  • If you have general questions in regard to the District's reopening plan, that are not student-specific, please email them to no later than Monday, August 10 at 3 p.m.  We will address and post the answers to questions received as soon as possible.

    Please see attached "A Week in the Life" for both elementary and secondary students.  This provides an overview of what a typical week will look like as a Remote or Hybrid learner.  

    On Friday, August 7 a Google Form titled "First Quarter Declaration" will be available on the District Website, Facebook, and Twitter. You will use this form to request the learning model, transportation mode, and foodservice indicator for your children.  Please complete a form for each child by August 15.  If you are unable to complete the form electronically please let us know immediately and we will provide you with a hard copy.

  • Today, the New York State Public High School Athletic Association, Inc. (NYSPHSAA) announces its 2019-20 Scholar-Athlete School of Distinction and School of Excellence Award winners. Congratulations to our 2019-20 Alfred-Almond Varsity Sports teams for earning the School of Excellence Award.   To earn the School of Excellence Award, 75% of a school’s varsity teams must qualify and receive the Scholar-Athlete team award.
    We are very proud of our student-athletes as they continue to excel in the classroom and on the field.

  • Dear AACS Families,

    Today, the New York State Public High School Athletic Association officials voted to set the official start date for our athletic teams to Sept. 21st. The decision comes at the recommendation of the NYSPHSAA COVID-19 Task Force. Please understand that the safety and well-being of our student-athletes is at the heart of all decisions.
    As we receive more guidance, we will continue to update our families and student-athletes.

    11th and 12th grade students interested in taking online classes through Alfred State need to fill out the attached form and turn in to the School Counselors' Office by mail or drop off to the main office by August 18th.

  • Alfred-Almond Central School Annual School District Meeting

                    NOTICE, is hereby given to the residents of the Alfred-Almond Central School District that the Annual Budget Presentation will be held on Monday, June 1st, 2020 at: 6:00 pm virtually, during the scheduled Board of Education meeting; for the transaction of such business as is authorized by the Education Law.

    The vote will take place on Tuesday, June 9, 2020 @ 5:00 pm by mail in absentee ballots. All qualified voters shall vote only by absentee ballot.  The District will make a good faith effort to distribute absentee ballots to all qualified voters as required by Executive Order 202.26.  Voters who do not receive absentee ballots by May 29, 2020 should immediately contact the District Clerk via email at or telephone at 607-276-6501 to request an absentee ballot.

                Qualified voters may vote on the 2020-21 school budget, on a candidate for the Board of Education, on a proposition to purchase two (2) 66-passenger school buses, on a resolution creating a capital reserve fund entitled “The Alfred-Almond Capital Reserve Fund” with the total maximum amount set at $3,000,000 for the duration of ten (10) years and on a library proposition.

                Copies of the proposed budget, resolutions, and a copy of the latest tax exemption impact report, may be obtained during the 14 days immediately preceding the Annual Meeting, on the District’s website at or upon request via phone or email to the District Clerk at 607-276-6501 or

                Petitions nominating candidates for the office of member of the Board of Education must be filed with the District Clerk no later than 4:00 p.m. on Monday, May 11, 2020.

                The following seat on the Board of Education is to be filled.  One (1) Term of Five Years, Gary Acker.  A petition must be directed to the District Clerk the name and residence of the candidate and must describe the particular vacancy for which the candidate is nominated including at least the length of term of office and the name of the last incumbent.  Petitions may be obtained at the District Clerk's Office.

                Absentee Ballots are available from the District Office.   Requests for Absentee Ballots must be made seven (7) days prior to the vote, if by mail, and one (1) day prior to the vote via a phone request.

    NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that at said annual election to be held on June 9, 2020, the following proposition will be submitted:

    RESOLVED, that the Board of Education of the Alfred-Almond Central School District is hereby authorized to purchase and finance two (2) student transport vehicles, including necessary furnishings, fixtures and equipment and all other costs incidental thereto, and expend a total sum not to exceed $239,000, which is estimated to be the total maximum cost thereof, and said amount, or so much thereof as may be necessary, shall be raised by the levy of a tax upon the taxable property of said School District and collected in annual installments as provided by Section 416 of the Education Law; and, in anticipation of such tax, obligations of said School District, in the principal amount not to exceed $239,000, shall be issued.

    If necessary, due to space constraints on the voting machines, said proposition may be presented in substantially the following abbreviated form:


    Shall the following resolution be adopted:

    RESOLVED, that the Alfred-Almond Central School District, is hereby authorized to purchase and finance two (2) student transport vehicles, and expend a total sum not to exceed $239,000 which is estimated to be the total maximum cost thereof, and said amount, or so much thereof as may be necessary, shall be raised by the levy of a tax upon the taxable property of said School District and collected in annual installments as provided by Section 416 of the Education Law; and, in anticipation of such tax, obligations of said School District, in the principal amount not to exceed $239,000, shall be issued.

  • Alfred-Almond Elementary School Closure Grading Plan

  • Parents and families of students in grades 7-12, please note the following important items.

    Lockers for grades 7-12 students will be emptied and contents delivered home in order to provide students with the necessary supplies and textbooks for the 4th quarter. This will also facilitate the deep cleaning of all surfaces for the return to school when announced.The anticipated delivery date of items to all homes is Monday, May 4th.

    Grading practices for the 3rd and 4th quarter have been finalized for grades 7-12 and will be shared on this site in the next few days. Please watch for this important information.

    Attention Alfred-Almond Parents, Guardians, and Students:

    Beginning Wednesday, March 25, 2020, bagged breakfast and lunch meals will be available for pickup from 7-10am on Wednesdays ONLY. All students are eligible for one free breakfast and lunch per day during the emergency school closure. To receive these meals, please call Karleigh Ormsby, School Nurse at 607.276.6535 or email
    PLEASE NOTE: Meals will not be available unless you have signed up for the program. On Wednesdays, five days' worth of breakfast and lunch will be provided for these students. Due to the quantity of food that is being prepared for each student for this length of time, please be sure to contact us if you choose not to participate in the program any longer. Our Amazing Cafeteria Staff are preparing over 2000 meals a week for our district children, we want to ensure that the meals they are providing for us do not go to waste.

    Thank you for your patience as we work out the best way possible to help ensure the students in our community are fed during these uncertain times.

Mission Statement
