• COVID-19 Information for the 2023-2024 School Year (Updated 09/13/2023)

The district will be following the protocols established by the NYSDOH- COVID  as well as the Allegany County Department of Health- COVID.

If your child tests positive for COVID:

    • The day of the positive test result is considered Day 0.
    • Isolation through Day 5, returning to school on Day 6 as long as they have been symptom-free and fever-free for 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medications.
    • Masking is still strongly recommended but NOT mandatory for days 6-10, unmasking on day 11.
    • For questions regarding when your child can return to school, please contact Karleigh Winters at kwinters@aacsapps.com or by calling 607.276.6536.
    • At-Home, COVID tests will be provided by the district at no charge. Please contact Karleigh Winters for more information kwinters@aacsapps.com

Regardless of your stance on masking, please remember that many people still have valid reasons to mask.  We ask you to remind your children that it is each person’s personal choice to wear a mask and to stress the importance of respecting others' choices.

To ensure the health and safety of our students, staff, and the community, we will continue to implement mitigation strategies to help decrease the spread of COVID-19, including improved air filtration, frequent hand-washing, daily cleaning protocols, and more.

As always, if your child is sick or demonstrating COVID-19 symptoms, they should be kept home from school and tested for COVID-19.
